What is a Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic?
Our FRP is manufactured on a continuous laminating machine, meaning the finished product is truly homogenous. This means that your FRP will withstand greater impacts, take a beating in just about any industrial environment, clean off with mild soaps, and stand up against acids, alkalis, and fumes without fading, shattering, tearing, or losing its color. The FRP Panels are a perfect fit for commercial / Institutional doors providing superior performance characteristics, homogenous construction, and a high impact resistant outer skin. They have a pebble like characteristic, incorporated with UV inhibitors to provide protection from harsh sunlight. The color is incorporated throughout the panel providing a long lasting, virtually maintenance free door. Most graffiti is effortlessly removed. All panels have a thickness of .120”
Bond Strength: Panels are a specially engineered composite designed for maximum architectural and structural life. Panels and adhesives are tested according to the stringent requirements of “Criteria for Sandwich Panels” issued by ICC (International Code Council) and must pass severe tensile and shear tests before and after numerous exposure conditions. Before specifying an alternate, insist on actual field proof of bond integrity over a 20-year period. Caution is urged in accepting “look-alikes” as equivalents.
Expansion: The coefficient of linear thermal expansion of vale FRP is 1.24 x 10-5 in/in/ºF. (2.23 x 10-5 mm/mm/ºC). An 8′ panel will expand lengthwise approximately 1/8″ when the temperature rises 100ºF or a 2 m long panel will expand approximately 2 mm when the temperature rises 40ºC

Cleaning Instructions
Vale FRP doors by design require very little care and maintenance. Periodic cleaning of the embossed fiberglass panels is recommended to prevent the accumulation of dirt and grime. A solution of household dishwasher liquid and water is advised to be applied with a soft cloth or sponge. Clean the door from top down using a small circular scrubbing motion and thoroughly rinse to remove buildup of the cleaning agent. Do not use any abrasive cleaners or applicators. Always spot test the cleaning method in a small inconspicuous area before cleaning the entire panel.
